In gameplay, when a player invokes process of elimination to solve a problem it usually means they have exhausted all other methods, or they are unfamiliar with the rules and mechanics of the game. By the time the player gets to this level, they will have learned a lot about how the game world behaves, so I wanted this puzzle to require the player to remember the previously encountered behaviors as well as draw on real-life experiences. I was approaching empiricism with the importance of experience/observation in mind. One could argue that every puzzle in the game relies upon empiricism if you paint too broad a stroke in defining it for the context of this game, so I wanted to focus in on the most important aspect of each virtue. Also, I wanted to keep it mostly within the bounds of the Twelve Virtues essay.

"the player will solve the puzzle not through logical-deduction, process of elimination, or wild guessing, but by empiricism"

Process of elimination is an empirical standby! Make as many hypotheses as you can, figure out what consequences they imply, test them. Narrow it down. Bam, you've got the right one.

How do you separate two things that are the same thing?

Loving the new art, not that it wasn't good to start with. The atmosphere is now on a whole new level. It certainly fits with the deep and enriching story the game is aiming at, and from what I see will live up to my expectations.

Before the end of the year is the best estimate I can give on the release date. As for a demo, I think we will have one shortly before release. Thanks for the interest!
